Privacy and cookies

This site collects very little, and it is switched on by default — the line at the foot of every page says so, and there is a switch at the bottom of this page that turns it off. Here is exactly what happens, in plain words.

What we measure

We use Google Analytics 4 to count which pages get read, so we know what is worth writing more of. When it is on, Google Analytics records:

Google Analytics does not log or store your IP address. It sets two cookies so one visit can be told from another: _ga and _ga_6T8114WXKJ.

The tag also reports to our own Google Ads account. That is how we see which of our ads brought someone here, and a completed contact form is counted there as one lead. It sets one more cookie, _gcl_au, so a form filled in after clicking an ad can be traced back to that ad. None of this is sold, and we do not share it with anyone else.

Turning it off

The switch below turns all of it off. When it is off, no cookie is set and nothing about you is recorded โ€” the tag stays in the page, held in a switched-off state before it runs, and sends only one cookieless, aggregated ping that a page was opened and nothing else. No identifier, and no advertising signal. The site works exactly the same either way.

Your answer is remembered in this browser and re-applied on every page, so a site that defaults to on can never quietly turn itself back on for someone who said no. If you cleared your browser's site data, that is the switch being reset: the site returns to its default, on.

If you contact us

The contact form on the home page, an email or a phone call gives us your name, how to reply to you, and what you tell us about the job. We use it to answer you and to do the work. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not pass it to anyone else.

Changing your mind

The switch above is the control, and it goes both ways: press it again and analytics comes back on. Nothing is kept in a hidden setting and there is no list to write to.

What we keep, and for how long

Analytics data ages out of Google Analytics on its own; we do not keep a copy of it ourselves. Messages you send us are kept while we are dealing with the job and after it, so the record of what was agreed survives — which is the same reason we photograph the work.

Asking about your information

Email info@greenjobsgalore.com or call or text 519-851-8614 and ask. You can ask what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.

Who we are

Green Jobs Galore is a handyman and renovation company in London, Ontario, and a company under the Bizbio Inc. umbrella. The home page says what we do.

This page is kept accurate rather than aspirational: it is changed in the same breath as anything on the site that collects data. If a tool is added, it is named here first.
